Hello,

Cherokee is a new web server that has many good points, it has a user-friendly admin web page to manage, and it performs good on websites, however it might have some incompatibility as it is not popular and not supported every where.

so :

1.Login to your VPS, using PuTTY on windows, or by using following command from (Linux, OSX) :
ssh [email protected]

2. Update your sources list and packages list by using following on debian :
sudo apt-get update

3. Install "git" :
sudo apt-get install git

4. git clone Cherokee to your VPS :
sudo git clone http://github.com/cherokee/webserver.git

5. type :
sudo cd webserver

6. start configuring, compiling and installing :
./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc
make && sudo make install

7. start Cherokee-admin using following command :
cherokee-admin -b IP -u -t

now visit your IP address in the port 9090 :
http://your-ip:9090

after that you can start and manage your web server. :)

Note! make sure to close season in command 7 after you finished editing settings :)

Good luck!
